ERIKA NYSTRÖM

Erika Nyström (born 1992) lives in Stockholm and studied graphic design and illustration at Konstfack in Stockholm. She has followed two creative paths: graffiti since the age of 16 and later graphic design and illustration, which is why her practice encompasses diverse approaches and means of expression. Erika's artistic style is deeply rooted in aesthetics. In her drawings she draws inspiration from the everyday, nature, the rich Swedish illustration tradition and graffiti culture. The essence of her artwork is often to create a sense of grandeur, whether through the interplay of colours, exaggerated proportions or the use of thematic elements. Her work is often concerned with capturing human relationships and imbuing them with a sense of connection, playfulness and positivity.
