HALFSTUDIO

Mariana Branco (born 1986) and Emanuel Barreira (born 1986) are the artists behind Halfstudio. The Portugal-based collective develops projects in various creative fields in which lettering and sign painting are always central elements. Their visual language is based on three-dimensional letters and dynamic layouts that convey striking messages in bright colours. Their approach to producing both studio work and public art embraces contemporary themes and ideas as well as an attentive engagement with the local environment. The duo have shown their work in exhibitions and at urban art festivals both in Portugal and internationally.
